Dress Code

Please send your child to school with comfortable, simple clothing, free of complicated fasteners.  Preschool children are very creative with various art projects, outside play, cooking projects, and painting...so clothes could get stained.  Keep in mind - preschoolers often wait until the last minute to the use the toilet ... so simple clothes are easiest to remove!

Each child should have a complete change of clothes to be kept at school in case of an accident.  Although we do have spare clothes at the center, children feel more comfortable in their own things.

On very cold days, hats, coats, boots, and mittens are needed!  We do go outside to play - even in the snow!  In the warm weather we spend a lot of time in the water play area.  A swimsuit, towel, and sandals are convenient for these times.  Please remember to label everything!

We believe there is a definite relationship between good grooming, dress habits, and proper school behavior.  Please reinforce the importance of cleanliness to your child.  Children who are not clean, tend to stand out in a room where they need to fit in.  This can be damaging to a child's self esteem.  When a child is brought to school wearing soiled clothing, or is unbathed and uncared for, we have no option but to report neglect to the appropriate state agency.
